Kilian Krüger at work

Chapter I

The Beginning

I started drawing early on, spending hours putting ideas on paper. Shapes, structures, thoughts. It was my first way of making the invisible visible. Creativity has always been my core, but eventually, drawing wasn't enough. I didn't just want to design things; I wanted to create them.

The Path

My path into art was not linear. I started early, building my own projects and exploring different directions, always searching for what truly fits me. On one hand, I worked in a metal workshop making rings. On the other, I discovered glass as a material. Since 2021, I have been developing my own technique to break the material with intention.

Chapter II

The Work Finds Its Audience

What started as a hobby gradually turned into a full-time pursuit, as my work drew more and more attention. Social media gave everything an entirely new momentum. Suddenly it was no longer just the people close to me who valued my work, but people around the world became interested in my art.

Today my works are at home in many different places: from New York to Dubai (Burj Khalifa), on to Belo Horizonte in Brazil, and as far as Zurich, Berlin, and Vienna.

Chapter III

Controlled Destruction

What can look like destruction from the outside is, in reality, a controlled process. Every strike changes the structure of the glass. It determines how it breaks. The line between a break and total shattering is thin, because you have to hit the glass with the right precision and force. In that moment, the artwork is created.

Chapter IV

And that is exactly what I love about my art. Every time I start from the beginning, it still drives me not to give up, but to keep going. Just because something fails does not mean the first attempt was pointless. Every failed attempt teaches me to accept failure as part of making.

In the end, there is that one moment when everything clicks. All the tension releases and a strong feeling of satisfaction and pride remains. That is exactly what I want viewers to feel as well.
